Great stuff, and huge challenges!  Pertinent to THIS group I would ask about the form of biodegradation, and where it goes. Degraded is certainly better than persistent, but it usually means that MORE MASS is added to the biosphere (including water systems) that wasn't there before.  Is it all benign or even beneficial, or does our solution bring additional problems?  I doubt that it will be industrially recycled.
